Keloid tells the story of a teenager who finds out he’s been granted with an awesome set of abilities, and the circumstances he finds himself caught up in as a result of the development of said powers. A web series in the vein of Luke Cage, Static Shock, and Sleight, Keloid looks to be a welcome addition to the live action super powered series landscape. A Black TV & Film Collective (BTFC) production, Keloid was created, written, produced, and directed by BTFC’s founder, Huriyyah Muhammad, and brought to life with the assistance of 20+ members of the New York City based organization.
Check out a trailer and preview below, along with an official summary:
“As desperately as Keloid wants to be a typical teenage boy, there is nothing typical about him. He has the abilities of telepathy, teleportation, telekinesis and control of electricity at his disposal. He is a descendant in a long line of gifted human beings.
While most teenage boys worry about videogames and school crushes, we enter the story as Keloid’s world is crashing in around him. Someone linked to him has just gone missing from his school.
Stunned, Keloid and his mother do what they do best, what they have done Keloid’s whole life, run. Run from questions, run from their past, run from being found. This is Keloid’s story.”
